Technology Integration and the SAMR Model

The SAMR Model developed by Dr. Ruben Puentedura is a way for teachers to frame the manner in which technology is integrated into their planning and instruction. 



The SAMR acronym stands for:

Substitution, 

Augmentation, 
Modification, 
and Redefinition

It is a straightforward model to examine how computer technology might impact teaching and learning.  It is often referred to as a ladder, which shows a progression of technology integration. More information is presented in the slide deck below:
